~~ UWGB Wedding ~~

“From the bottom of our hearts thank you, thank you, thank you for the incredible evening Saturday night. You know it is a great wedding dance when at the end of the night the dance floor is still packed and the crowd is chanting "ten more songs!"

Wow. I am still on cloud 9. [You] played a huge role in making Saturday the best day of mine and Justin's life. Everyone had a blast, and we received so many compliments that we want to pass along to you guys.

Just letting you know you have a few new groupies and there's a good chance you'll be playing at some of our guests’ weddings and events in the future.

Cheers Joe! The band just "crushed it"!”

To Hip Pocket - "the hardest working band in the Midwest"

Mary and I would like to sincerely thank you all for the great job you did for Thor and Holly's wedding reception/dance on Sept. 6th at Holiday Acres!! I spent 45 years in the music business, 25 of them onstage in every venue from jazz to bluegrass, and I have pretty high expectations for any group!  You guys performed like true professionals who were truly enjoying the night!!!  The dance floor filled on the first tune and never emptied all night!  The energy coming from the band was HUGE!!  Everyone was blown away!!!!

I want to give a shout out to all the individual members of the band for their great work!!  Joe, Denise and Heather for their powerful lead and backup vocals, Joe for great keyboard work, Patrick, musical director, horn arrangements and fine trumpet playing and leading the horn section of Bill on trombone, Steve on multi saxes and flute, and Simon on bari sax.  All blowing hot solos and the tight ensemble play paying homage to the likes of the Stax Memphis Horns, Tower of Power and the Blues Brothers Horns, What a treat!!!

And the guys dear to my heart - the rhythm section.  John playing great lead guitar and that funky soul rhythm guitar, Charlie, upholding his reputation as one of the best bass players in the Midwest (thanks man for letting me plug into you rig and do a couple numbers -what a blast!!!)  Mike on drums, solid and powerful (thanks Mike for helping me through my two tunes with arrangement cues!!), and last but not least, Marty, sound engineer, for doing a great job with the sound in a tough setting (tent with asphalt floor)!  To each and every one of you a sincere thank you for a superb job!  You made the night!!  We look forward to hearing you all again soon!!

Very Best Regards,
Bill and Mary Hermanson

"Just wanted to say thanks to you and the band. Your professionalism was evident to everyone in attendance. What a class act!!! I think at least one hundred people came up to me and everyone said how great the band was. Marc and Sarah’s expectations were more than satisfied and they really appreciated you doing the songs they requested. Again thanks, Joe, and please let the rest of the band know how pleased we were with your performance. I felt it was money well spent."

"Thanks so much for playing our wedding this past weekend. Sarah and I had an absolute blast and we know everyone who attended did as well. Also, you nailed the songs we asked you to play and Sarah and I were blown away at how well the Jack Johnson song sounded. Sarah and I were talking and even though we never connected on what type of jazz songs we wanted to hear for the dinner portion; we heard everything we would have asked for. It was unreal."

Thanks again,
~Marc and Sarah

To Hip Pocket – musicians and management:

Just a quick note to tell you how absolutely delighted we were with your recent concert here at The Historic Ironwood Theatre.  We’ve had performers here who drew standing ovations at the conclusion of their shows, but yours was the first time I’ve seen multiple standing Os mid performance – and mid-song!  I guess audiences respond when they see performers giving their all, doing something they love.

Aside from the outstanding musicianship and on-stage energy, I’d also like to thank-you for your professionalism - from first contact through the conclusion of the show, it was clear we were dealing with people who knew what they were doing.  Please also convey our congratulations to your tech crew for the quality of their mix and sound engineering.  Many patrons who attended your show told me it was the best sound they’d ever heard, anywhere.

In the short period of time since your performance, I can’t tell you the number of patrons who’ve asked “When are Hip Pocket coming back?” Obviously, we look forward to a return gig when it fits our respective schedules.

Should other presenters or venues have questions about you, please feel free to give them my contact details. I will not hesitate to offer a very positive reference.

Again thanks – you gave a great show.

"Thank you so much for making Mick's Roast and our 30th Anniversary a huge success. Everyone was talking about the professionalism and talent in your group! What a treat! We raised $6,100 for the live studio fundraiser. We now have seed money to begin to broadcast in-house concerts on-air. Hope to have you on stage there soon! Thanks so much for making this happen!"
